Luggage storage in Paris — coming soon

Paris is on Tanana's expansion list and is not open yet. No Paris location exists and nothing here can be booked. Because Paris is a city of large terminus stations and long walking days, it is also the city where readers most often want to know what luggage storage will actually cover — so that is what this page explains.

Bookings are not available in Paris yet. No Tanana storage location has opened in the city.

Planned coverage

Stations and districts travellers ask about in Paris

Paris has six main terminus stations and no single centre, so storage demand is spread out. These are the areas we hear about most from travellers — none of them has a Tanana location yet.

Gare du Nord and Gare de l'Est

Eurostar, Thalys and services to northern and eastern France arrive within a few hundred metres of each other. Travellers changing between the two, or with a long wait for an evening departure, make up most of the searches for storage in Paris.

Gare de Lyon and Bercy

The gateway to the south and to Switzerland and Italy. Long-distance departures cluster in the afternoon and evening, which leaves a predictable gap after a morning hotel check-out.

Châtelet, Le Marais and the Louvre

The central museum and shopping district is walked end to end, and museums restrict large bags at the cloakroom. This is where a day without luggage changes the itinerary most.

Montmartre, Opéra and Saint-Lazare

Montmartre is stairs and hills; Saint-Lazare feeds the suburban lines and day trips to Versailles and Giverny. Both are far more comfortable without a case in tow.

Travel context

Why luggage storage is useful in Paris

Paris is a metro city, and the metro is old. Many stations still have long corridors, turnstiles and stairs with no lift, and a large suitcase turns an easy connection into a slow one.

The city is also a natural first or last stop on a longer European trip. Travellers frequently arrive on an early Eurostar or leave on a late TGV, with hours in the city and no room booked on either side.

Museums, galleries and restaurants in central Paris are tight on space and often refuse large bags outright. Somewhere to leave them for the day is a practical requirement rather than a luxury, which is why we would rather open here properly than pretend we already have.

After launch

How Tanana will work in Paris after launch

Tanana's model is a booking tied to one specific venue and one time window. Paris is not part of it yet.

  1. 1

Per-venue booking, published only when real

A Paris location will appear here with its address, opening hours and accepted bag sizes at the moment it becomes bookable — not before.

  2. 2

Times inside the venue's opening hours

Drop-off and pickup will be restricted to the venue's real opening hours in local time, the same rule the Malmö locations already follow.

  3. 3

    Reference, label, staff-only storage

You will show your booking reference, staff will label the bags, and they will stay in a staff-only area until you return.
